Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford, is a British American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who served as the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their rock-star sound and raucous lyrics made them popular throughout the world of rock. The band didn't have much of a following in The United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad especially in Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and successful career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up up in 1979. After taking lessons in singing, she launched her debut solo album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford was unable to achieve much with either album and was largely absent from the world of rock for about 10 years. In 1988, Ford returned to the music scene with a smashing album called 'Lita. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both quickly became huge hit. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she was absent in the world of music for many years. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, as well as 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she returned. The year 2016 brought the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
